Meatballs For Giordano's

When you walk into a deli and the two behind the counter are speaking Hungarian you can pretty much bet on a great lunch! Giordano's was just that.

At the western tip of Miracle Mile in Vero Beach Fl, Giordano's is tucked away in the corner of a little shopping plaza. But don't let the location fool you, this Deli packs a mean sandwich and so much more.

When I walked in the door one of the first things I noticed was owner/operator Gizella Bozsik hard at work making homemade meatballs! That's right.... HAND ROLLED and HEARTY meatballs!
There was no doubt in my mind, I was about to have a serious encounter with an epic cuisine!

Let me start off by telling you about something I have never experienced on a sandwich before. I have ordered many and many with Mozzarella cheese. When ordering a hot sandwich with Mozzarella cheese the cheese mostly gets stringy at best. Until today I would have thought that was how Mozzarella was suppose to be. But today.... oh today! When I bit into this beautiful piece of artwork the cheese just continued to melt in my mouth. It was smooth and juicy and covered with chives. I don't know that I'll ever be able to enjoy processed stringy Mozzarella on a sub ever again!

Then there was the tomato sauces. We're not talking warm paste over frozen meatballs here... for the first time ever, stewed tomato sauces on a meatball sub!!! DELICIOUS! Maybe some of you have experienced this taste, but for me it was all new. Between the fresh real Mozzarella, the stewed tomato sauce, and the HOMEMADE MEATBALLS (did I mention the meatballs are HOMEMADE) This was by far THE BEST MEATBALL SUB I HAVE EVER EVER HAD! With chips and a drink my meal was $12.75. It's on the higher end for The Lunch Box, but we don't mind spending it when it's worth it. Giordano's is well worth it!

Special Thanks to Justin Yanuzzi for the recommendation

With the best Meatball I have ever had, I am honored to give Giordano's

  1. I love Giordano's!!!! They are very friendly, and make everything fresh. I always order the Italian sub its the best sub anywhere. My second favorite is the meatballs and spaghetti dinner, it comes with bread and a delicious salad. I've been going there for years. Its my favorite place.

  2. Heather,
Thank you for commenting. I asked the gentleman behind the counter what the most popular sub was and he said it was the Italian. Yet, when I saw Gizella hand rolling those meatballs I just couldn't resist. I hope you will follow this site for future reviews!

  3. You have to try the capicola sub Italian style with hot peppers or the prosciutto sub with fresh mozzarella and basil
